At home

Fortunately, mum and dad aren’t around to ask where I went tonight. They’re at a party at Janice and Terry’s which will, no doubt last well into the wee hours. Mum would not be at all amused to learn that I spent the evening with Ben (again!)

After I picked him up, we went to The Point but the only film not sold out was “Parenthood.” It was silly but entertaining, especially the scenes with Steve Martin (love him.) Dianne Wiest played his sister and I really enjoyed the scenes with her and her on-screen daughter, Martha Plimpton (who I’ve loved since seeing her with River Phoenix in “The Mosquito Coast.”)

Ben and I went for a drink afterwards, where the following conversation took place;

“How many kids do you think you’ll have?”
“What?”
“You heard,” he grinned.
“Yes and that’s why I’m asking what as in what the…”
“Well?”
“This is the second time in over a week I’ve been asked that same question.”
“Really?”
“Uh-huh.”
“You and David have already had the kid conversation?”
“David?”
“Yeah, you know, that guy in LA you dream of being married to.”
“I do not!”
He held up his hands. “Regardless, you had the chat.”
“Actually we haven’t.”
“But you just said…”
“Yes, I had the chat but it was with Pamsy, not David.”
“Oh. Well I’m sure it’s something you two’ll be talking about soon.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure about that.”
“Why not?” he asked.
“I’ve met someone else.”
