At home

Bumped into Millie at TriStar House this morning, so we went to the cafeteria for tea and toast.

“You’re looking a little glum,” she said.

“David might not be in LA next week while I’m there.”

“Where’s he going?”

“Possibly India.”

“Ugh. I’ll keep my fingers crossed, I know you’ve really been looking forward to that trip. For obvious reasons,” she said, winking.

“Not just that,” I said.

“I’m just teasing you. What can I do to cheer you up?”

I sighed. “I don’t know.”

“There must be something I can do to bring a smile to your face. Ooh, ooh, wait,” she cooed, looking very animated. “I know!”

“What?”

“Let’s request a trip!”

“Another Antigua?”

“Nah,” she laughed. “We’ve already been there, done that, got the t-shirt and all that. Besides, you can’t show your face there again.”

“This is true.”

“How about Caracas?”

“How long is the trip?” I asked.

“Does it matter?”

“I’m buying a house, remember?”

“Oh yeah, eh, I think it’s a ten-day trip, maybe a little less. We can find out from crewing.”

“Have you been there?”

“Not to Venezuela no, but I love South America.”

“Ok, let’s do it.”

“Really?”

I nodded yes.“

Should we invite Dolly?” she asked.

“Absolutely. We can’t be Millie and Maddie without Dolly.”
